PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce floating of a mat on the side of a protrusion part, and reduce positional dislocation of the mat by arranging an interposing part in a projecting state in a position for filling up a space on the side of the protrusion part generated by laying a mat body in a slantingly installed state between the protrusion part and a laying surface. SOLUTION: When laying a mat body 3 so as to cover a protrusion part 2 of a laying surface 1, the mat body 3 is laid in a slantingly installed state between the protrusion part 2 and the laying surface 1, and an interposing part 5 arranged on the reverse of the mat body 3 in a projecting state is interposed in a space 4 generated on the side of this protrusion part 2. Thus, the slantingly installed state of the mat body 3 is almost supported and held by this interposing part 5. That is, since the mat body is not installed in a floating state merely without a support, the occurrence of a floating state can be reduced, wrinkles are hardly generated, and even if a part of this slantingly installed state is stepped down by feet, the interposed part 5 projected from this part is touched to a floor to support the mat body 3.
