PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always impact an ink droplet on an appropriate position by an appropriate amount, regardless of variation of recording heads in production, or change of the ejection energy or a recording head temperature. SOLUTION: The number of dots ejected simultaneously is counted from image data (DATA) to be recorded. A preset driving pulse width is read out from a memory, corresponding to the number of dots. With fall of an HEin signal as a signal, a counting operation is started. An HE signal is maintained until the count value coincides with the read out driving pulse width so as to drive an ejection opening.
