PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove cadmium from a large amount of the internal organs of mollusks by eluting mollusk tissue or the frictional crushed matter thereof with an aqueous dilute acid solution and separating the eluate thereof, then bringing the eluate into contact with powerful cationic ion exchange fibers. SOLUTION: Raw materials, such as the internal organ portions of the mollusks, i.e., midgut membranes, hearts and pallial membranes. are frictionally crushed by a crusher, ball mill, etc., and the frictionally crushed raw materials are subjected to an extraction treatment by using the aqueous dilute acid solution. The extraction treatment is executed by mixing the aqueous dilute acid solution with the frictionally crushed matter of the internal organs at a ratio at which the bath ratio of the solid contents of the frictionally crushed matter of the internal organs and the aqueous dilute acid solution attains 1:2 to 1:10 and the mixture is agitated for a prescribed time at 10 to 60 deg.C and the treated matter is filtered, by which the solid contents are removed. The treated filtrate is neutralized at need and is then brought into contact with the strong cationic ion exchange fibers. |
