PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a step-up converter which can control an output voltage without the detection of the output voltage. SOLUTION: A current supplied to a reactor 13 from a DC power supply 2 is regulated through turning on/off of a switching device 15 to control the output voltage of a step-up converter. The modulation factor of the switching device 15 is obtained from an input voltage from the DC power supply 2 and an output current on a load side 3. The on/off of the switching device 15 is regulated according to the modulation factor to control the output voltage.
