PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device capable of reducing the wrong operation, even if it is used under the hard condition, and to provide a switch control method. SOLUTION: A first rise detecting unit 64 detects a condition change from the condition that a power source electrical potential does not appear in an output terminal 20 of an contact point A 12 to the condition that it appears, and generates the normally open contact point rise signal. A first fall detecting unit 66 detects a condition change from the condition that the power source electrical potential appears to the condition that it does not appear, and generates the normally open contact point fall signal. A first condition memory unit 68 is set by the normally open contact point rise signal and is reset by the normally open contact point fall signal. Similarly, a second condition memory unit 74 is set by the normally closed contact point fall signal and is reset by the normally closed contact point rise signal. An AND unit 76 generates the start signal, in the case where both the first and second condition memory units 68, 74 are set. When the start signal is continued for the prescribed time interval, operating signal for switch device 26 is generated.
