PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device capable of easily attaching a fishing rod thereto and detaching it therefrom, leaving no parts such as projections on a fishing rod when it is detached, good in operability and causing no injury at all. SOLUTION: This device 10 has a fishing rod-receiving section 15 furnished on one side of the body 11 and intended for positioning a fishing rod 12, a fishing rod-holding section 20 furnished on the other side of the body 11 and intended for holding a fishing rod 12, and a clamping device 40 iritended for fixing the body 11 onto a fishing boat or the like; wherein the fishing rod- holding section 20 has two arms 22, 22 supported movably relative to a holding base section 21 and urged so as to run closed to each other, that is, these arms 22, when moved downward, interlock mutually and run open; in contrast, when moved upward, interlock mutually and run closed, thereby ensuring a fishing rod 12 to be held.
