METHOD FOR COMPENSATING FOR HUE SHIFT IN BI-DIRECTIONAL PRINTER AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A printer is provided to restrict a hue shift to a minimum limit by using print masks to different color inks, and adjusting an order and an amount of each color ink when the different color inks are to be piled into ink drops. CONSTITUTION: A printer has a print controller(58). The print controller(58) uses a forward print mask(62) and a backward print mask(64) for each print head. When a carriage is moved forward and backward, the print controller manages piling of different color inks at one region of a plurality of pixel positions corresponding to a size of the mask. Mask patterns of the print masks(62-64) cooperate to adjust an order of ink drops and the number of ink drops to be piled for every ink mask location.
