AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR

PURPOSE: An air conditioner provided to cope with both usual discharge capacity control for stably maintain a room temperature and rapid reduction of the discharge capacity as an emergency evacuation step at an emergency. CONSTITUTION: A load torque detector(60) detects load torque generated in a compressor as a reaction against a compression motion. A control device(70) calculates a load torque target value based on the results compared between a set temperature in a temperature set station(73) and a temperature detected by a temperature sensor(74). A discharge capacity of the compressor is controlled by feedback-controlling the passage of electric current through a solenoid coil(54) of a control value(40) so as to bring a measured load torque near the target value under a normal condition. On the other hand, the feedback control is interrupted to control the passage of the electric current through the solenoid coil(54) to minimize the discharge capacity at an emergency when a temporary reduction of the load torque of the compressor is requested for reducing a burden of a drive source.
