PRODUCTION OF INORGANIC FORMED ARTICLE

PURPOSE: Disclosed is a production process for an inorganic formed article which has high strength and is excellent in water resistance, heat resistance, thermal shock resistance and dimensional stability. CONSTITUTION: This production process for such an inorganic formed body comprises: a stage for obtaining a hardenable composition containing 100 pts. by mass of an acid metal phosphate, 80-200 pts. by mass of a hardening agent for the acid metal phosphate and 0.1-10 pts. by mass of urea; a stage for obtaining a forming compound by compounding 100 pts. by mass of the above hardenable composition with 5-100 pts. by mass of an inorganic reinforcing material; a stage for forming the above forming compound into a semi-hardened material having a desired shape; and further, a stage for heating the semi- hardened material to more than 120°C, to complete the hardening and to produce the objective inorganic formed article.
