PURPOSE: To obtain an AC generator which reduces a centrifugal force and an exciting force and which prevents a disconnection by a constitution wherein a lead wire which is derived from a rotor coil is extended to a root part between claw-shaped magnetic poles along a wall surface which is formed nearly in parallel to the axial line of a shaft. CONSTITUTION: A rotor 50 in this generator is installed so as to cover a rotor coil 13, a pole core 15 in which a magnetic pole is formed by its magnetic flux is provided, and the pole core 15 is constituted of a first claw-shaped pole core body 21 and a second claw-shaped pole core body 22, as a pair, which are engaged with each other. Then, a lead wire 54 is extended so as to come into contact with the root part 33 of the first pole core body 21 along a wall surface 56 formed nearly in parallel to the axial line of a shaft 5. Thereby, the size in the radial direction of the lead wire to which a slip ring body and the rotor coil are connected becomes short as compared with that in conventional cases. Its weight becomes small, a centrifugal force which is applied to the lead wire is reduced by its portion, and the vibration of the lead wire itself is suppressed. As a result, the disconnection of the lead wire can be reduced.
