OLIGONUCLEOTIDE REVERSE TRANSCRIPTION PRIMER FOR EFFICIENT DETECTION OF HIV-1 AND HIV-2 AND ITS USE

PURPOSE: Provided is the reverse transcription of HIV(human immunodeficiency virus) RNA for the detection of HIV by bringing an HIV RNA induced from a biological specimen into contact with a specific primer under a synthetic condition of the complementary DNA of the RNA. CONSTITUTION: The human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) RNA in a biological specimen such as blood, serum, plasma, urine, saliva and cerebrospinal fluid is reverse transcripted e.g. for the detection of RNA of HIV in the biological specimen by using an oligonucleotide selected from oligonucleotides of the drawings in the description and their arbitrary combination as a primer and bringing the oligonucleotide primer into contact with an RNA induced from the above specimen under a condition to start the synthesis of DNA complementary at least partially to the above RNA.
