PURPOSE: To provide a socket with an excellent durability, without damage to a printed circuit board caused by contact with the printed circuit board, requiring little time and labor for assembly. CONSTITUTION: This socket 1 has a housing 11 having an insertion hole for printed circuit board insertion; a plurality of spring contacts projecting into the insertion hole and forming a row of contacts along the direction of the length of the insertion hole; a pair of latch arms 21 respectively extending from the housing 11 at both ends in the direction of the length of the insertion hole so as to be elastically deformed outward and being integral with the housing 11; and a pair of latch parts 23 formed at the latch arms 21 and latching the printed circuit board in the latch arms 21 against the biasing force by the spring contacts when the printed circuit board is inserted into the insertion hole and turned until it becomes parallel with the latch arms 21. The latch arms 21 are also reinforced by a metal reinforcement member 31 supporting the latch arms 21 from the outside.
