PURPOSE: To obtain a display unit in which a sign having a surrounded nontranslucent division can be made of an arbitrary, especially nontranslucent material without using a web by improving a display unit of a type mentioned at the beginning and to obtain a method which is used to manufacture the display unit. CONSTITUTION: A nearly transparent division (11) is formed of a hole part (13) in a display front (2). A nearly nontranslucent division (12) is arranged at a transparent support (15). The nearly nontranslucent division (12) is inserted into the hole part (13) from the rear side (14) of the display front (2) by keeping an interval with reference to the edge part region (20) of the hole part (13).
