Pressurized saturated steam with an absolute pressure of not less than 2. 0 kg/cm 2 as a drawing medium is filled in an air-tight container having a to-be-drawn material introduction hole for feeding into the container a to-be-drawn material such as a polypropylene fiber non-drawn yarn consisting of isotactic polypropylene and a drawn material extraction hole for extracting a drawn material produced by drawing the fed to-be- drawn material to form a drawing bath, thereby preventing the pressurized saturated steam from leaking out from the to-be-drawn material introduction hole and the drawn material extraction hole by using pressurized water. The to-be-drawn material is introduced into the pressurized water through the to-be-drawn material introduction hole and is introduced into the drawing bath with water attached to the surface of the to-be-drawn material for drawing, and then drawn material is introduced into the pressurized water through the drawn material extraction hole for cooling.
