PURPOSE: Prepared is an antifungal composition which exhibits antifungal activity effective at low concentration, possesses an advantage in respect of cost, can be dispersed into perishable food materials and is appropriate to human consumption by including a material with prescribed average particle diameter. CONSTITUTION: The antifungal composition is obtained by including (A) a natamycin granular material of which the average particle diameter is 10 micron or smaller and the average ratio between the surface area and the weight is preferably at least 2 m¬2/g. Further, it is favorable that (B) a diluent selected from lactose, sodium chloride or its mixture is additionally contained, the components (A and B) are homogeneously mixed and (C) an anticaking granular material being in contact with particles of the component (A) is included. For example, the component (A) may be present in a concentration of about 1-5 ppm in food materials.
