摘要 PURPOSE: A production is provided to obtain dinitrogen oxide at a high yield by reducing nitrogen monoxide in a gas phase using a heterogeneous catalyst. CONSTITUTION: Dinitrogen oxide is obtained by oxidizing ammonia with an oxygen-containing gas such as air by the Ostwald method, or the like, to obtain nitrogen monoxide and reducing and nitrogen monoxide in the presence of the catalyst at 40deg.C more than under a pressure of 1-20 bar with a reducing agent. Nitrogen monoxide is reduced by using an Rh/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Rh or a Cr (II)/SiO2 catalyst having 1-5 mass % chromium oxide (II) at a reaction temperature of 200-450 deg.C in the case that the reducing agent is carbon monoxide, and by using a Pd/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Pd or a Pt/Al2O3 catalyst having 1-5 mass % Pt at a reaction temperature of 50-350 deg.C in the case that the reducing agent is hydrogen. A lanthanide-iron-zeolite catalyst and a Ru/Al2O3 catalyst are also preferable. The molar ratio of the reducing agent to nitrogen monoxide is preferably less than 2.
