PURPOSE: A standby power system is provided so that power is not consumed in a standby mode by using a wireless remote controller to control an electric system. CONSTITUTION: The standby power system consists of a wireless remote controller(2) and an electric system main body(1). When a power key is operated, the wireless remote controller(2) receives power from a battery(22) and transmits microwaves through a transmission antenna(25). When the reception antenna(13) receives and outputs the microwaves to a rectifier(14), the rectifier(14) receives the output signal from the reception antenna(13), and outputs it to the circuit units of the electric system main body(1). Accordingly, the electric system main body(1) is converted into a standby power state, and outputs power to the circuits(8,9,10) receiving a power-on signal. Thereafter, when receiving the power-on signal from an infrared transmitting unit(21) of the wireless remote controller(2), a microcomputer(8) operates a relay(5) to operate a main power source(6), thus supplying power to the electric system main body(1). As a result, the standby system does not need a standby power source in the electric system main body, thereby reducing power consumption.
