PURPOSE: To provide an electronic element of high luminescent efficiency and low operating voltage by comprising a plurality of organic layers including a luminescent layer between a hole injection electrode and a cathode, and an inorganic hole injection layer of high resistance including conductive oxide mainly composed of oxide of silicon and/or germanium of specific composition and having specific resistance between the hole injection electrode and the organic layer. CONSTITUTION: An organic EL element is obtained by successively laminating a substrate 1, a hole injection electrode 2, an inorganic hole injection layer of high resistance 4, a luminescent layer 5, an electron injection transporting layer 6 and a cathode 3, and connecting a driving power source E between the hole injection electrode 2 and the cathode 3 for the adjustment of color tone of luminescent color, and the multicolorization. The inorganic hole injection layer of high resistance 4 for blocking the electron and transporting the hole is mainly composed of oxide of silicon and/or germanium, 0=<x=<1, 1.7=<y=<2.2 are satisfied when the main component is represented by (Si1-xGex)Oy, and further the conductive oxide of below 1x1010 Ω.cm of resistance is included.
