PURPOSE: An antiemetic composition for transdermal administration and preparations containing the composition are provided to treat or prevent emesis resulted from a radiotherapy, the use of anticancer agents and a surgical operation, to maintain the effective concentration of a drug in blood by slow permeation of an antiemetic component for at least 24 hours, and to have no side effects. CONSTITUTION: An antiemetic composition comprises a base for transdermal administration containing: (1) 20-80% by weight of hydrophilic organic solvent, (2) 1-5% by weight of a skin-permeation promoter selected from a group consisted of fatty acid or derivatives thereof, fatty acid alcohol or derivatives thereof, amide compounds, terphen compounds, surfactant and mixtures thereof, and (3) 15-80% by weight of water; and 1-15% by weight of antiemetic components selected from a group consisting of tropisetron, ondansetrone and granisetrone based on 100% by weight of the base. Preferably, the preparations are provided in the patch form.
