PURPOSE: A high-pressure pump provided with removable on/off valve to feed fuel to an internal combustion engine is provided to offer a high-pressure pump which is extremely simple and high in reliability having an ON/OFF valve inexpensive in manufacture and easy in assembly to eliminate disadvantages of a known pump having an ON/OFF valve. CONSTITUTION: The pump has a body(8) including at least one fuel compression chamber and one operation chamber to surround a working member of the pump, an ON/OFF valve(34) is demarcated by an independent operating assembly to be inserted inside a hole(32) in the body(8) in a fluid-tight manner. The hole(32) connects an intake conduit(33) to a feed conduit(30) of the operating chamber and the compression chamber, the valve(34) assembly has a sleeve, the sleeve is located on a fuel feed conduit(30), and has an opening part(56) to be closed by a shutter(38) sliding inside the sleeve. The sleeve has two seats for two seals located on the sides opposite to each other of the opening part(56). The feed conduit(30) is straight, and can be formed using a drilling tool through the hole(32).
