PURPOSE: A selector valve with position detecting function is provided to detect the operating position of a valve member over whole stroke without using a magnet and magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION: A position detecting mechanism(20) for detecting the operating position of a spool(6) consists of a detecting coil(21) which is installed in a casing(4) and generates an alternating field, a detecting head(23) which is installed in a piston(12b) and changes the impedance of the detecting coil(21) by approaching to or separating from the detecting coil(21), and a signal processing circuit(22) for detecting the operating position of the spool(6) based on the change in the impedance of the detecting coil(21).
