PURPOSE: To produce a stainless steel sheet stock for a semiconductor producing device less prone to be deposited with fine dust and dirt and furthermore excellent in cleanliness and to provide a method for producing it. CONSTITUTION: As to this stainless steel sheet stock for a semiconductor producing device, in the surface of a skinpass-rolled sheet, the number of pinholes of >0.25 mm2 size by area is =<10 pieces per 10 cm2, and the center line average roughness Ra in a direction rectangular to the rolling direction is =<0.15μm. Moreover, as to the method for producing a stainless steel sheet stock, in a stainless steel cold rolled sheet, annealing is executed by using a hat treating furnace free from support rolls in a reducing atmosphere and also in a temp. region exceeding 600deg.C, and after that, skinpass rolling is executed with a water- soluble lubricant in such a manner that the center line average roughness Ra in a direction rectangular to the rolling direction is controlled to =<0.15μm. |
