PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footing pile capable of speedily carrying out driving work in the ground and, at the same time, surely supporting the load of a building by the deep ground. SOLUTION: The front end section 12 of a footing pile 10 formed in the shape of a cylinder is opened, the side wall of the front end section 12 is serrated, and a spiral wing 13 is provided to the circumferential surface in the vicinity of the front end section 12. By the constitution, even if the front end section 12 is opened, the load of a building is surely transferred to the ground by the spiral wing 13, resistance in the case the footing pile 10 is driven in the ground is lowered by the opening in the front end section 12, and driving work of the footing pile 10 into the ground is accelerated by rotational driving in cooperation with a cutting edge 12A of the front end section 12.
