New pyrrolo(1,2-a)quinoxaline derivatives, their salts and isomers, are claimed. The new pyrrolo(1,2-a)quinoxaline derivatives are of formula (I). n = 0-4; R1 = H, 1-4C alkyl, or phenyl optionally substituted by halogen, or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; R2 = NR3R4 or, when n is 0, it may form with -CHR1- a bicyclic or azabicyclic group of 7 or 8 members; R3 and R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl, these aromatic groups being optionally substituted by halogen, or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, or R3-N-R4 is any of the ring structures of formula (F), (G) or (H); n' = 1, 2, or 3; n'' = 0 or 1; X = O, S, or -NR5; R5 = 1-4C alkylphenyl or benzyl, these aromatic groups being optionally substituted by halogen or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; m and m' = 0, 1, or 2; R6 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, phenyl or benzyl, these aromatic groups being optionally substituted by halogen, or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; Ar = group of formula (A)-(E); R and R' = H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy or trifluoroalkyl, phenyl or benzyl, these aromatic groups being optionally substituted by halogen, or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (I); and (2) use of (I) for preparing pharmaceutical compositions for human or veterinary use, preferably for the treatment of depression and memory disorders. |
