<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a continuous reproduction signal by dispensing with reset of time when a switched stream is reproduced. SOLUTION: MPEG encoded streams SA, SB are inputted in stream input terminals 1A, 1B. A PIC header is detected from the streams SA, SB and PTS and DTS are extracted by PIC header detectors 7A, 7B. A PCR is detected from the streams SA, SB by PCR detectors 8A, 8B. Each of the streams SA, SB is held and desired PIC headers in each of the streams SA, SB are simultaneously outputted by input buffers 3A, 3B. A PTS/DTS is compensated by PTS/ DTS compensators 4A, 4B and the PCR is compensated based on a reference clock by PCR compensators 6A, 6B. One continuoues output stream is generated from the streams SA, SB by a stream switching device 13.</p> |
