PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a blade for regulating the amount of a developer reduced in the maintenance frequency, free from the blocking of stable regulation due to hydrolysis and wear even after use over a long period of time and capable of giving stable image quality over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The blade for regulating the amount of a developer regulates the amount of a developer carried on the peripheral surface of a developer support and has an elastic body layer on at least the surface brought into contact with the developer support. The elastic body layer comprises a polyurethane elastomer using polytetramethylene ether glycol as a reactive component.
