PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excitation waveform generator which is constituted entirely of a synchronization circuit, is easily integrated into ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) and is easily accelerated. SOLUTION: This excitation waveform generator for generating the PWM (pulse width modulation) pulses of excitation waves is provided with plural counters 29-32 driven by a clock, a decoder 33 for generating decoding signals to be the judgment reference of PWM pulse generation from the output of one of the plural counters 29-32 and plural comparison means 34 and 35 for comparing count values inputted from the two counters 29-32, when the decoding signals inputted from the decoder 33 are valid. An OR processing is performed to each of the compared results of the plural comparison means 34 and 35, and the PWM pulses are generated.
