PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record data which is still reproduced at the SDL mode of a DV format. SOLUTION: In the device 3, DV data reproduced at an SDL mode is received through an IEEE 1394. A control part 25 generates an FR signal identifying a front frame and a rear frame from a DFF signal contained in transmission data in TEEE 1394 and a frame synchronizing signal. A DFF is a code for identifying whether the transmitted frame is the front frame (frames of track numbers 0 to 4) or the rear frame (frames of track numbers 5 to 9). The control part 25 synchronizes the writing of data to a rate conversion memory 26 and a head SW signal with the FR signal.
