The present invention relates to protein controlling the growth or a form in plants and a method for controlling the growth or a form in plants using the same and, more specifically, to a method for controlling the growth and/or a form in plants by using AKTH12 protein separated from mouseear cress. The protein of the present invention is able to: control the growth in plants by expressing a transformant, produced by using an ATHB12 gene and a recombinant vector including the gene, in plants; and increase productivity of crops by changing the size of plants or controlling the shape of plant leaves.
