PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of smearing on inside diameter sides of races by forming lubricating layers on inside diameter surfaces of a pair of races opposed in the shaft direction when a plurality of rollers are interposed between the pair of races. SOLUTION: A pair of thrust roller bearings are provided with races 16, 17 arranged oppositely in the shaft direction and a plurality of rollers 18 held by a cage 20 between both of the races 16, 17. In both of the races 16, 17 and the rollers 18, the substrates of the surfaces parts are made into higher carbon or higher nitrogen than that at the inside by performing a carburizing treatment and a hardening treatment such as carbonitriding or nitriding for high carbon steel material such as bearing steel and a quenching is performed by forming carbide and nitride. Thus, a coating lubricating layer 21 made of manganese phosphate salt as one for surface protection is formed on each outer peripheral surface of each race 16, 17. |
