PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lighting method, a lighting device, and a visual inspection device that eliminate lighting irregularity by the gateway of an object to be lit, and can uniformly light the object to be lit. SOLUTION: In a lighting space body 1, an entrance 7A and an exit 7B for allowing an object 3 to be lit to go into and out of the inside are provided, and at the same time a plurality of windows 4 for shooting the object 3 to be lit in the inside by an image pickup camera 5 such as a TV camera from the outside are provided at the periphery part of a surrounding wall. A lighting light 2 is arranged around the lighting space body 1 for lighting the entire lighting space body 1 from the outside. A fluid substance generation device 10 is composed of a steam generator 8 that generates white-smoked steam, and an air curtain device 9 that allows pressed air flow to begin to blow from one inside surface with the white-smoked steam being generated by the steam generator 8 at each opening part of the entrance 7A and exit 7B of the lighting space body 1, sucks air from the opposite inside surface for circulating the air flow containing steam, and forms an air curtain in the entrance 7A and exit 7B.
