PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor of entry to entrance/departure recording form. SOLUTION: A personal computer segments data, which is required for a record of entrance to a country or departure from a country, from the picture of a passport read by an image reader (S17). Concretely, a passport number of the passport, a birthday, a sex, and a name written in Roman characters are segmented. Segmented picture data is subjected to character recognition (S18). Recognized data is outputted to a printer (S21).
