PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical fiber liquid sensor improved with respect to the response characteristic. SOLUTION: The optical fiber liquid sensor comprises a slot rod 13 with a lengthwise formed groove 16, an expandable resin 12 expanding as absorbing a liq. under monitoring housed in the bottom of this groove 16, an optical fiber 11 partitioned by the expandable resin 12 and a partition member 18 housed in the groove 16, and a wire 14 wound on the slot rod 13. A gap 17 is provided in the depthwise direction of the groove 16 between the expandable resin 12 and the groove 16 side wall.
