PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gas combstor from becoming unusable by opening a stopcock by a control means, irrespective of whether or not an ignition time is being limited while a position detecting means is detecting that an operation is in an igniting position and allowing an ignition operation of an igniting means to continue. SOLUTION: An operation panel P of a main body is provided with a operation button 42 for switching between an extringrishing position, a igniting position and a combusting position. The individual positions of the operation button 42 are detected by position detecting means, i.e., a stopcock switch SW1 and an ignitor switch SW2. A microcomputer MC controls a stopcock 1 and an ignitor 8 on the basis of the results of the detection output and output voltage of a thermocouple T. Specifically, the stopcock 1 is opened irrespective of whether or not an ignition time is being limited, and an ignition operation of the ignitor 8 is continued. Thus a gas combustor is prevented from becoming unusable.
