摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic pressure bearing and spindle motor superior in rotating performance and wear resistance by providing thinner overall thickness while maintaining rigidity of a bearing part of a predetermined length. SOLUTION: This fluid dynamic pressure bearing is constituted by a grooved shaft 10 having upper and lower dynamic pressure grooves 10a and 10b on a shaft circumferential side face and erectly fixed on a plate face of a base plate 11, a thrust ring 12 having upper and lower dynamic pressure grooves 12a and 12b on a ring face and fittingly fixed at an axial center of the grooved shaft 10, and upper and lower bearing parts 13a and 13b facing each dynamic grooves 10a, 10b, 12a, and 12b and fittingly attached and integrally assembled on the axis of the grooved shaft 10. A rotor side is assembled by providing this fluid dynamic pressure bearing as a base body, a drum 20 fittingly fixed to an outer circumference between the upper and lower bearing parts 13a and 13b, a magnet 21 fittingly fixed in an lower inner circumference of this drum 20, and a yoke 22. A stator side is assembled by providing a core 23 attached and fixed to the base plate 11 with a magnetic gap G between the magnet 21 of the rotor side, and a coil 24 wound around this core 23.
