APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING LEAK OF WATER BY POTENTIAL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a method for detecting the leak of water whereby the leak position of water can be accurately determined as well as detection of the leak of water. SOLUTION: Using a reference potential current path I1 composed of reference potential measuring ground electrodes 8a, 8b and a reference potential generating power source 9; and a water leak probe current path I2 composed of a probe electrode 10 disposed in a depression, warm water probe ground electrode 11 disposed on the ground 1 through a water barrier 2 and a probe power source 12; the leak of water is judge from the level of a current flowing on the water leak probe current path I2, and the water leak position is judged from the change of the reference electrode potential.
