PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coin sorting device which allows a thrown-in coin to smoothly pass in and nearby a coin reception part. SOLUTION: This device has a slot type coin reception opening 1A which receives coins falling down, one by one, and a coin rolling rail where the thrown-in coins entering the coin reception opening 1A are changed to a lateral direction and roll. On the internal wall surface of the rear end part 5B of a base side plate 5 which constitutes the coin reception opening 1A, grooves 8A are formed as an uneven pattern 8 for scraping sticking dirt off the thrown-in coin and collecting it.
