PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noise of an engine by restraining deflection of a bearing cap with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A fitting part 10 comprising a groove part 13 and a flange part 20 is formed between a bulkhead extension part 9 formed by extending a bulkhead 2 to one side of a bearing cap 4, and bearing cap part 8 opposed to the bulkhead extension part 9. With this simple arrangement in which the flange part 20 formed in the bearing cap side part 8 is fitted in the groove part 13 formed in the bulkhead extension part 9, a deflection of the bearing cap 4 in the axial direction of a crankshaft can be restrained, thereby it is possible to reduce vibration and noise of the engine.
