PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine exhaust muffler with a compact general structure capable of lowering an exhaust temperature sufficiently even in the case of a muffler containing a catalyst. SOLUTION: A muffler 6 with an approximately rectangular parallelopiped shape that muffler engine exhaust is covered with a muffler cover 60. An outlet 63 of the muffler 6 is provided on a non-opposing external wall 61 forming a muffler external surface that is not opposed to an outlet 60a of the muffler cover 60. The outlet 63 of the muffler 6 is equipped with an exhaust cap 7 for diffusing exhaust at least in the direction parallel to the non-opposing external wall 61 as well as directing it to the outlet 60a of the muffler cover 60.
