A test transmitter (E) and test receiver (R) are coupled (C) through an optical fibre (F1) to a rotating optical joint (JT) and to a reflector (Fr). A standard signal (Sr) modulates the test transmitter (E) and the reflected signal (Sd) is received (R) and detected (CT). When the rotating joint (JT) is turning at a constant speed the detected reflected signal may be used to correct other transmitters (En) for the effect of the rotating joint.
