MEASURING METHOD OF DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of the distance between vehicles which can be simply embodied as an apparatus and in which the resolution of a distance can be enhanced. SOLUTION: This measuring method of the distance between vehicles uses a spectrum diffusion operation. In a reception processing operation, the spectrum diffusion operation is performed by an inverse diffusion means by using a PN code. A correlation power output is found by a correlation power calculation means. A correlation between a correlation power output which is found by the inverse diffusion operation and an ideal correlation power output is found by a recorrelation detection means. The peak position of the correlation power output obtained by the recorrelation detection means is found by a correlation peak detector 17. The distance between vehicles is found by a distance-between- vehicles computing part 18 on the basis of the peak position and on the basis of the phase difference of a transmitting operation.
