PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an intermediate transfer body which is supported by rollers for carrying a transfer material in a longitudinal direction so that an image forming device may not become larger in breadth. SOLUTION: A freely rotatable outer contact roller 14f is arranged at the inside of the carrying surface in between follower rollers 14e and 14i for stretching a belt type toner image receiving body 14a used as the intermediate transfer body so as to be laid between them, and the toner image receiving body 14a is carried while making a detour to the roller 14f, by having such the constitution, a space required for carrying is reduced in breadth from the conventional breadth D1 to a breadth D2, then, the miniaturization of the device is attained. Besides, an electric field for pressing toner toward the toner image receiving body 14a is formed between the periphery of the roller 14f and the peripheral surface of the body 14a, then, the toner is prevented from being transferred toward the roller 14f. |
