PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost speaker which realizes an ultra-thin profile, an enhanced sound volume and sound quality by adopting a diaphragm of large elasticity, and which attains a decreased thickness by the omission of a damper and utilization of simple members. SOLUTION: This ultra-thin speaker is provided with a case 1, a diaphragm 2, a yoke 3, a coil 4, a magnet 5, a washer 6 and a front pole plate 7, and the torus plane 22 of the surface layer of the diaphragm 2 is projected outward, in contrast to that of a conventional speaker which is projected inward. According to the structure reverse to that of the conventional speaker, the elastic performance of the diaphragm 2 can considerably be improved, the need for a damper is eliminated, the thickness of the speaker is decreased by avoiding waste of the space, the members are simplified, the cost is reduced, and the sound volume and the sound quality are enhanced.
