PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data writing device, the data writing method and the connector connecting a target board to the data writing device capable of improving work efficiency in the data writing process to a ROM on the target board. SOLUTION: The converting board 2 having the connecting connector connectable to the data writing connector 13 provided in the edge part of a PCB in order to control from the external part the flash ROM 12 mounted on the PCB 10 is attached to a ROM writer 3. The connecting connector is composed so that the data writing connector is attached and detached from the direction parallel to the mounting surface of the PCB. Therefore, the connecting terminal of the connecting connector does not disappear on the far side of the PCB, the attaching position is easily confirmed by an operator, and attaching and detaching work is easily executed.
