PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the recording action of a subject when the face of the subject is turned in a prescribed direction by recognizing the direction of the face. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a field image detection means 8 detecting the image information on a field, a face recognition means 21 recognizing the face of a subject based on the image information from the detection means 8, a decision means 22 deciding whether the face is turned in a prescribed direction or not based on information from the recognition means 21, and a control means 23 executing the recording action for the subject according to the decided result of the decision means 22.
