PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control with a fingerprint read function that can easily receive various services for the purpose of personal use with security. SOLUTION: The remote commander that controls remote devices is provided with a fingerprint read window that identifies a person and is placed on the front side of a remote commander main body, a fingerprint pickup prism 5 that is placed inside the remote control main body while its one slope is exposed from the fingerprint read window, a light source 6 that is placed on an incidence side of a fingerprint read light and around the fingerprint pickup prism 5, an image forming lens group 7 that forms an image of a read fingerprint to its emission side, a photoelectric conversion element 8 that applies photoelectric conversion to the image of the fingerprint formed by the image forming lens group 7, a fingerprint image data processing section 9 that is connected to the photoelectric conversion element 8 and a memory 10 that is connected to the fingerprint image data processing section 9 and from which reference fingerprint data are transmitted.
