PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote display device for an elevator that can simply and inexpensively respond to an information request by each building and each time zone. SOLUTION: The remote display device for an elevator provided with a burglar camera 5 that photographs the interior of a cage 2 of an elevator and with monitors 6, 8 that are installed in the cage 2 and a place 7 that is used to get into the elevator and display a video image or the like photographed by the burglar camera 5, is provided with a tuner 18 that receives a broadcast video signal via an antenna 12 and with image service means 10, 17 that store image information and image control program information generated in advance to control the output signal. The image service means 10, 17 transmit a broadcast video image, image information and photographed information by the burglar camera 5 to the monitors 6, 8 in a prescribed sequence for each prescribed time. The video image displayed on the monitors 6, 8 has contents in response to a building and a time zone without sequential control by a monitor center 13.
