The present invention provides a method capable of obtaining a separator for a battery polyolefin which is uniform and has a low degree of scratch and coating uniformity on both sides of a microporous polyolefin layer at low prices. The method comprises: a coating process of coating both sides of the microporous polyolefin layer with a coating solution containing a water soluble resin or a water dispersable resin and inorganic particles by a coating device; and a process of returning the coated microporous polyolefin layer, discharged from the coating device, to a vertical drying device disposed above the coating device without passing through the support device and drying the coated microporous polyolefin layer by the vertical drying device. In the coating process, shaking accuracy of a coating roll of the coating device is less than or equal to 10 m/100 mm, and a thickness of a coating tangent line between the coating roll and the microporous polyolefin layer is between 3-10 mm. |
