PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric air blower and a vacuum cleaner high in efficiency and low in noise. SOLUTION: These devices are constituted of a centrifugal type impeller 6 having a plural number of blades 4 fastened on an axis of rotation 5 of an electric motor 3, an air guide 8 positioned in the circumference of the impeller 6 and fastening a plural number of stationary blades 7 on a base plate 20 and a fan case 10 to surround these impeller 6 and air guide 8 and having a suction port on its center, and a distance of the fan case 10 and a stationary blade end surface 12 can be varied by making it free to move the fan case 10 in the axial direction.
