摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously transmit both a base band signal and a high frequency signal by using the same light source using a sub-carrier optical transmission. SOLUTION: An electric modulation part 120 modulates a sub-carrier wave from a high-frequency oscillator 110 by an input electric signal. An optical power modulation part 140 operates, referring to a prescribed bias point, and modulates the strength of the main carrier wave from a light source 130 by the modulation electric signal from the electric modulation part 120. Here, the prescribed bias point differs from the voltage value, at which the radiation power from the optical power modulation part 140 becomes a half of the maximum. An optical signal transmitted through optical fiber 300 is branched into two by an optical branching part. A 1st light receiving part 220 converts one of the branched optical signals into a 1st electric signal and then extracts only the electric signal to be transmitted. A 2nd light receiving part 230 converts the other branched optical signal into a 2nd electric signal and then extracts only the modulated electric signal generated by the electric modulation part 120.
